Birding in IIT and Vedanthangal
Spotted Owlet, Vedanthangal
Spotted this guy in Vedanthangal. I saw him perched on a bush close to the water body but he flew away before I could get a shot at him. Minutes later, he appeared magically out of thin air, very close to me, as I was climbing down the observation tower. Love this guy!

That owls really looks good.........
Was searching allover the net to identify the bird I had seen on the way to Vedanthangal. Thought it was a hummingbird but found there are none in India. Thanks now I know its a purple sunbird.Great blog very nice pictures
