Traffic Lights in Denver

Reached Denver last evening. This morning was walking from hotel to work. Check this out for a pedestrian signal: Hand sign in red = Stop Hand sign in red blinking = Walk but rush! and in between the two above you have a 'running man' sign that flashes approximately for a second. And for a bunch of Indians who are utterly clueless about how to cross the perilous highway, with its rushing cars and trucks a Green hand could have saved a lot of time. The signal is pedestrian-operated and I don't know if during peak-hours there is no green and later on the green comes on... but this definitely sucks. You can't change a traffic light man! Not like that!
